My name is Bonnie Jones and I am from Alfriston School. This is my third year teaching and my first year as a fully registered teacher. Me and 2 other teachers have been lucky enough to be apart of our new ICT e-learning initiative run by Jacqui Sharp.
We meet a couple of weeks ago and focussed on 'Learning Spaces'. After much thought I spent a couple of days in the classroom and reluctantly pulled all my classroom furniture away from the wall to create more spaces for children use when they are learning.
I have attached some photos of what it now looks like. I really was surprised about how changing my room around and pulling furniture off walls didn't make the room feel small or cluttered. Already my students are using these spaces not just at SSR time, but during other learning times as well.

New Maths/Reading Corner
New learning area with smaller tables
This term, I have also been working on my classroom Wiki (http://alfroom9.wikispaces.com/home). I have added a class blog, quick links to important websites, Youtube videos for Topic this term and a Google Form for students to fill out and send back to me so I can get to know them better.
I found Jacqui's website Web2tools (http://web2toolswidgets.wikispaces.com/) extremely helpful to use and find what I was looking for and to also get some new ideas. I have always been a bit frightened to do much on my Wiki as I am not too tech savvy, but found spending a couple of hours on it playing around got me learning more about the website and how to use it.

February Update:
I can see the new learning spaces are working great. Today I introduced to my class one of my writing tumbles SSW (silent sustained writing). We discussed what type of things we can write in this time. After a big brainstorm session, I asked them to go back to their desks to work on a piece of writing for their enjoyment. Once they were all settled I noticed half the class working away from their desks. They were using the learning areas to write. Here is what I saw.
